Wednesday, June 13
$40 all access pass
On Wednesday, June 13, Cactus Bar and Grill will team up with Chicago Canine Rescue to host “Babes 4 Bully Breeds” Charity Burlesque Show. The event’s proceeds will directly benefit “bully breeds” in need (pit bulls, boxers, bull terriers). A $40 donation includes admission, live burlesque show, cocktails (margaritas, sangria, cocktails, domestic draft beer) and appetizer buffet from 6-9 p.m. The burlesque show will take place at 8 p.m., followed by DJ Andrew Vonn spinning fun music into the night. Cactus will hold a raffle for such prizes as Chicago White Sox tickets, certificates for spa services and dining, and more.
Chicago Canine Rescue is hoping the community will support their “lova-bulls, availa-bulls and adopta-bulls.” Tickets may be purchased at the door, or online at eventbrite.com (http://babes4bullybreeds-es2.
Chicago Canine Rescue Foundation’s mission is to decrease the thousands of euthanizations and abuses in our city through dog rescue and adoption. CCRF saves displaced and homeless dogs through the Chicagoland area and places these dogs in loving area homes through responsible adoption. CCRF is a no-kill, not-for-profit 501 (c)3 dog rescue organization. They help abandoned, neglected and abused canines of all breeds, ages and disabilities find medical treatment and new loving homes.
Some of America’s most beloved dogs are considered bullies. From large-and-in-charge boxers to small and stout Boston terriers, there are a variety of dogs that fall under the category of “bully breeds.” Many of these dogs have unfair reputations for being dangerously aggressive — especially pit bull breeds like the Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier and American pit bull terrier — but they actually make for very loyal and loving pets.
